Cheer Squad SPBS JV/Varsity Cheer Squad
Come out for the Grand Opening of Fall Fest 2011 with the SPBS JV and Varsity Cheer Squad as the kick off the weekends festivities. The 2011-12 Junior Varsity squad has twenty members, combining 5th and 6th graders. The Varsity team has 17 members and is made up of 7th and 8th graders. Both squads support the school football and basketball teams . In addition, they perform at locations like the Fall Fest, shopping centers, and retirement homes. They also participate in cheer combinations and pep rallies to promote school spirit. Go Bears!

 

 

 

SPB Chorus St. Paschal Baylon Children's Choir
For the sixth consecutive year the Children's Choir of St. Paschal Baylon will kick off our weekend celebration with their energetic performance. Under the direction of Caroline Esposito the 85 member Children's Choir has recorded three CDs, performed at numerous Conejo Valley venues, and is always a crowd favorite at the Fall Fest. Come out to kick off the start of another great festival with the SPB Children's Choir on Friday evening at 6:30 pm.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Sneak Peek

Catch a sneak peak of the most fantasmagorical musical in the history of everything! With characters created by James Bond author Ian Fleming, a story by iconic children's author Roald Dahl and music from the legendary Sherman brothers whose songs from Disney classics, including Mary Poppins, have been the soundtrack for families since the 1960s, this all-new stage version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will charm and delight audiences of all ages. This production features a cast of singing and dancing candy factory workers, a windmill full of inventions, selfabsorbed Vulgarian royalty, more than 20 children, a motherless family, and one more-than spectacular flying car! The show will run from November 19 through December 23 at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center.

Everybody knows the irrepressible Annie and her fellow orphans that reside at the NYC Municipal Orphanage with Miss Hannigan, but less well known are the trouble-makin boys! Meet "Annie's Orphan Boys" as they sing popular songs of the 1920's and 30's. Coming to you from Cabrillo Music Theatre, the Ovation Award-winning resident musical production company of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, and a non-profit organization. Cabrillo presents locally produced professional musical theater exclusively for Southern California audiences. Cabrillo Music Theatre is dedicated to bringing you Broadway in YOUR Backyard!

Dance Ten Dance Ten
For the 5th consecutive year "Dance Ten" will perform at the SPB Fall Fest. Performing both 7:30 pm Friday Night and 2:30 pm Sat Afternoon. Pam Rossi's Dance Ten is anentertaining dance and performing arts presentations with performers ranging in age from 5 to 22 years old. You will experience dancers that have an array of talent from Jazz,Tap Jazz, Lyrical and our performing arts department acts and sings from very well noted Musicals. Glass Houses Glass Houses
Members of Glass Houses are honored to be kicking-off St. Paschal’s Annual Festival weekend for the sixth consecutive year. We are also pleased to announce an extended line-up for our performance including a horn section and additional lead vocalist. The core band includes: SPB Parishioner and school dad the past 14 years, Phil Lachina (on drums); Burt “Santino” on lead guitar (Rocks !); Jet as lead vocals (Powerful !); Terry playing guitar and vocals (Smooth….); and Frank on bass (Jams!). We are fortunate to have some great talents joining us this year, including: Blake playing trumpet (Just wait !); Jeff playing saxophone (Can’t wait !); Jayme as co-lead singer (She was our main vocalist for the 2010 men’s club new year’s eve party); and to help us closeout the evening, Steve “Birdman” playing guitar. Most of this group combined forces recently and had a blast performing many of the tunes you’ll hear Friday night. Glass Houses also headlined Aspen Elementary School’s 2011 SummerFest, performed at the Canyon Club for the T.O. Little League’s 2010 fundraiser and plays private parties, nightclubs, wedding receptions, company picnics and more. Our diverse set lists cover many incredible artists and our song variety offers music for many tastes and hopefully everyone’s enjoyment. Daniel Velarde Daniel Velarde
Daniel Velarde is 14 and has just graduated this year from St. Paschal Baylon School and is currently attending Thousand Oaks High School. He has been playing piano since he was six years old and started teaching him self how to play guitar in November of 2010. He has played at numerous school events at St. Paschal Baylon School, played at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center Dance, and plays guitar for the St. Paschal Baylon Children's Choir. He mainly plays adult alternative, rock, and pop.

 

 

Joey Peate Joey Peate
Singer and songwriter Joey Peate will be on hand Sunday afternoon to entertain the Fall Fest crowd. Joey has been a parishioner of SPB for over 20 years. As a solo musician he was formerly signed by, and recorded with, Marian Records out of Nashville Tennessee. He has played hundreds of shows throughout the US including venues such as the Roxy, Whiskey, Troubadour, Bluebird Cafe, Ventura Theatre, and Canyon Club. Lynn Rd. Band Lynn Rd
This contemporary Christian group out of St. Paschal Baylon Church will bring their talents to our Fall Fest stage on Saturday. Lynn Rd. write and sing their own unique brand of popular spiritual music that touches the hearts of audiences everywhere. Led by Kevin Stoller, a veteran composer and arranger for television and film, the group combines the lyrical and vocal talents of Jana Bellan, Jody Bruno, and Georgina Cebrero

 

Drexel Drexel
For their first time ever the classic rock power trio Drexel is coming to the St. Paschals festival. Featuring St. Paschals alums Tommy Suwara on guitar and lead vocals and Joey Miller on bass and backup vocals along with their new drummer Austin Zamachaj. All three of Drexel's members currently attend Thousand Oaks High School and have played numerous shows from Northridge to Channel Islands. Their music consists mostly of classic rock hits from bands like The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rush, and many more.

 

The Leslie Family The Leslie Family Band
Chris Leslie, 21, plays guitar, bass, piano and sings. He is currently a classical guitar and piano major in college. Chris has been playing guitar since the age of 5 and, as a member of 2 bands with his brother, has been offered 2 separate recording contracts. Chris is an alumni of St Paschal Baylon School and plays at the Friday school masses.

Brandon Leslie, 23, has been playing drums and singing since the age of 3. As mentioned above, Brandon and Chris' bands have been offered recording contracts, and Brandon has toured nationally with a major label rock band. Brandon is also a St Paschal Baylon School alumni and also plays at the school masses.

Denise Leslie has been performing professionally for over 35 years. She has a bachelor of music degree and plays piano, guitar, and is our lead singer. Denise plays at our school masses every Friday. She is a full time music teacher at Pinecrest in Moorpark. Denise and Jim have been happily married for 26 years.

Jim Leslie is the school music teacher and choir director at SPBS. He holds a bachelor of music degree in classical guitar and is a former pupil of Maestro Andres Segovia. Jim has been a professional musician for over 30 years, and is the former guitarist for the 5th Dimension. Jim and Denise are preparing to release their 1st CD of sacred music later this year.

 

Ballet Folklorico Ballet Folklorico
Once again on Sunday afternoon, Ballet Folklorico Generacion 2000 will hit the stage with their high energy performance. Ballet Folklorico Generacion 2000 has beenentertaining throughout Thousand Oaks since 1995, under the instruction and artistic direction of Guillermo Mendez. The group practices every Thursday at St. Paschals Church and has grown a trememdous following of parents, family, and friends. The purpose of the folklorico dances is to revive the cultural roots of their rich Mexican Culture while at the same time educate the community on this amazing art form. Each member of the troup acquires knowledge of dance skills and techniques, choreographies and historical facts on each Mexican Region presented.

 

Norm Panto Norm & Frank Panto and Friends
Returning to the SPB Fall Festival Stage once again is Mr. Norm Panto and Friends. Panto's career is varied and wide-ranging. He traveled on a European tour with Vic Damone, played and sang for six months on the Princess Cruise line, and has been a SPB favorite not only during the Festival but during Lenten Fish Fry Fridays. Norman has taken on various acting and singing roles in television and film. A published songwriter, Panto's music has been heard in movies and television for decades. For your entertainment, The St. Paschal Baylon Church Festival welcomes back The O'Connor School of Irish Dance! Showcasing their talents with toe tapping reels, lively jigs, and high leaps, The O'Connor dancers will provide energetic fun for the whole family. Under the direction of St. Paschal's parishioner Bella Yerina, the Thousand Oaks based O'Connor School always provides a wonderful show.
